What is DIET? 

DIET represents Disruptive, Innovative, and Emerging Technologies in the nuclear industry. In our theme of Building Futures, expect topics including, but not limited to:

Networking Opportunities

  • We are excited to invite all participants to the Roundtable Networking Event at the DIET 2024 Conference! This event is designed to facilitate meaningful conversation and connections among peers and industry leaders in a structured yet relaxed setting.

Event Details: 

  • Duration: 2 hours 
  • Format: The first hour will consist of structured roundtable discussions, the second hour will be open networking. 
  • Food and beverages will be provided
  • Attendees: All conference attendees are welcome to register for this networking event. We encourage students and young professionals to attend! This event does have a capacity limit and will require you to register. Please register for this event through the conference registration page. 

 

Structured Roundtable Discussion (first hour): You will be matched with a mentor at a table, along with other participants who are interested in discussing the same topic. These topics will align with themes from the plenary and technical sessions and will be shared with you soon. During this hour, you will have the opportunity to participate in three rotations, allowing you to engage with three experienced mentors from the nuclear industry, each with years of knowledge to share. 

Open Networking (second hour): This is your chance to mingle, meet like-minded individuals, and continue conversations with peers and mentors. It is a unique opportunity to interact with seasoned professionals and gain valuable insights in a more casual setting.

Showcase Your Work! 
The DIET 2024 Academic Committee invites you to submit a poster and participate in the Student Poster Session. CNS Student membership is required to participate in the Student Poster Competition. Memberships are free for Canadian Students. 
 
 
Poster Submission Criteria: 
  • Poster specs 3ft x 4ft
  • Poster Orientation: Horizontal or vertical is acceptable 
  • Prizes for top posters to be awarded, including the top prize of an internship with NPX
  • Deadline to submit: November 1st, 2024
  • Submit through the Poster Submissions button at the top of this page.
